story behind my creature

the story behind my creature goes like so, after the second world war there was allot of destroyed tanks and machine parts littered all over Europe, to sort out this problem the allies created small robotic machines to break the tanks up and scrap unneeded parts and collect parts that can be reused.
the machines were programmed to survive just encase they get separated from the main group or get attacked by German troops that are still resisting.
one day a group of robots were attacked by a group of separated German troops, in defense the robots combined them self with tank parts as they knew that the tanks armor could protect them from the enemy troops.

when the allies arrived they found a group of dead Germans and a statue of a prey mantis made out of tank parts, the statue starts to move and in panic the allie troops begin shooting at the creature, in retaliation the creature turns to reveal its main gun which is then damaged by allied fire.

after the battle the creature creates protective shields out of plane wings this shows the creature is evolving and learning.

idea development one

this is what i have decided im going to do for my creature vehicle.

i have decided that im going down the insect root for the chassey as insects are strong, fast and usually well armed or armored anyways, on top of this insects adapt extremely quickly to new environments and threats because they have many oft-string so there's a higher chance of mutation in there dna.

i will take parts from tanks like this and put them in place of the flesh parts on the actually insect, this will give the creature an advantage over all other living things as tank parts are designed to take fire from weapons built by man.

this is kind of what i want my creature to look like when i have finished designing and developing my idea.

my idea

my idea

i saw this image of a destroyed  tank and i though that it looked sad, it is strange how we add human characteristics to objects that are not alive or ever were alive, this is called Anthropomorphism and is why we say things like my computer hates me.

because i saw this in this destroyed tank i have come up with the idea of a creature made up of destroyed tank parts, these creatures will look simular to there animal or bug counter parts but will also have the characteristics of the tanks they are made up of. (the head could be the turret of a tank with the gun for the nose)

for example if the creature is made up of a tiger tank it will be powerful and scary in appearance or if the creature was made from t34 parts it would be quick and fast breeding.  i will develop this idea further in the next couple of weeks.

the brief

the brief for this unit is to design a character, object or environment from start to finish to show the original idea then the development of the design and then the final product which you would hand to the client.

i have chosen to do a vehicle  as i did not design any in the last project last year, instead of doing a wheeled vehicle i want to try design one with legs, i will take influence from the animal kingdom because legs as a design have been around on living creatures for millions of years.
